Your driver meets you at your hotel in Casablanca or at Mohammed V International Airport. We drive along the Atlantic coast to Rabat for a brief stop at the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Continue through the fertile Saiss Plain to Fes for overnight.
An early start from Fes takes us through the Middle Atlas. We stop in Ifrane, known as "Little Switzerland" for its alpine architecture, then visit the cedar forests of Azrou where Barbary macaque monkeys live in the wild. After lunch in Midelt, we descend through the dramatic Ziz Valley with its thousands of date palms, arriving in Merzouga in time for your sunset camel trek.
Wake early for the Sahara sunrise. After breakfast at camp, ride your camel back to Merzouga. Today we explore the desert area — visit the village of Khamlia for traditional Gnawa music, the ancient market town of Rissani, and optional activities like quad biking or a 4x4 dunes excursion. Return to the desert camp for a second night under the stars.
After breakfast, we begin the return journey. Retrace the Middle Atlas route with lunch in Midelt, arriving in Casablanca in the evening. Alternatively, we can drop you in Fes if you prefer to continue your Morocco trip from there.
Your tour uses a private, air-conditioned 4x4 vehicle (Toyota Land Cruiser or similar). The vehicle is exclusively for your group with an experienced English-speaking driver who knows the Casablanca-Sahara route intimately.
