Your driver picks you up from your hotel in Rabat or at Rabat-Sale Airport. We drive through the Saiss Plain with an optional stop in Meknes to see the Bab Mansour gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Arrive in Fes for overnight in a traditional riad.
An early departure from Fes takes us south through the Middle Atlas. We stop in Ifrane for coffee, then visit the Azrou cedar forests to see the Barbary macaque monkeys in their natural habitat. After lunch in Midelt, we descend through the spectacular Ziz Valley gorge, arriving in Merzouga for your sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Wake before dawn to watch the sunrise paint the dunes in shades of gold and orange. After breakfast at camp and your camel ride back, we begin the return journey to Rabat through the Middle Atlas, with lunch in Midelt. Arrive in Rabat in the evening.
4-day option: Add an extra night in the desert for a more relaxed pace, or spend a full day exploring Fes with a local guide before continuing south.
